It has been a while since I have posted here, but I have been really busy. I’ve been in the learning and creation mode. My contracted year of product from mentor James Fawcett has expired, so I will no longer be receiving any direct teaching from him.
I learned a fair amount from James, but there were some inherent flaws in what he was teaching. He teaches a very solid system for using solo ads to build an email list. Some of his students have done decently, but a lot of them struggle.
There is one big problem when you are taking his course that it took me a long time to fully realize. He is marketing to the same leads that we market to. He has a lot more experience and he has a lot bigger list than we do. Most of all, he has such an extensive list of old products complete with the excellent marketing he has done on them, that he can offer much better bonuses than any of his students can.
Consequently, when one of his students is marketing one of his products, he is usually going to get the sale and not them. Any sales that any of us got of his products were more a case of dumb luck than smart marketing.
However, I did learn some excellent traffic tricks from him and I did learn the nuts and bolts of affiliate marketing and I will be forever grateful for his mentorship. That being said, I am looking forward to the next step, which is really the next steps.
For the time being, I will be doing my marketing from what I will call the John Thornhill Universe. Being an occasional fan of graphic novels and movies from both Marvel and DC, I think I will call it the JTU.
For me, the JTU will consist of the two products I’ve been mentioning the most lately, Master Affiliate Profits (MAP) and Online Success Coaching.
The Big News from Master Affiliate Profits (MAP)
MAP is finally getting ready to launch Phase 3 of their product. This has taken close to a year longer than the anticipated because of the sheer amount of work in building their own payment system.
Most products like this are sold through systems such as Warrior Plus or JV Zoo or Clickbank. These are all great systems. However, like my old mentor, all of them compete with anybody who buys any product on their platform.
Whenever you buy a product on any of these platforms, these platforms immediately start promoting other products to your email address. If you are a customer, that is actually great because you have access to more products.
But if you are a product creator, or you are somebody who is sending a large volume of your leads to be marketed to on your behalf, it is creating competition and leeching money out of your bottom line.
MAP was built to be an all-in-one affiliate ecosystem. All you have to do is send them leads and they will Market to those leads on your behalf. The creators of MAP have built one of the greatest make money online products ever. All you have to do is send them leads and they will market to them for 90 days.
They also turn your leads over to you so you have access to every lead that you send them. This allows you to market other products to those leads after they have finished their cycle of promotion.
When an ecosystem like this is kept in house, you keep all of your leads and all of the marketing is done on your behalf. However, this forced map to create their own payment and affiliate software including four different monthly continuity products and myriad individual products.
When they began testing the code 8 months ago, they found a lot of bugs and a lot of flaws. Eventually, they realized they were going to have to hire four times as many coders as they had and rewrite the entire system.
Since they are extremely picky and rightfully so about who they hire, the hiring process alone took close to three months. By the time they got everybody up to speed it was getting close to October or November. Finally, it is March and the big announcement is here.
The announcement is tomorrow and they have previously told us they were going to give us at least two weeks notice before launch of Phase 3 so that we can finish the promotion of Phase 2, where you can get a lifetime membership for the price of what it will cost for one year once Phase 3 kicks in.
What this means for us is that instead of having one high ticket offer, we are now going to have four different monthly offers ranging from free to $97 a month. As I posted before here, I am a big believer in buying Lifetime Products whenever possible. if my former mentor James Fawcett had offered a lifetime product, I probably would have bought it.
But it also means something extremely important: in about two weeks, there will be no more lifetime membership available. I will post more about this in the coming days.

Online Success Coaching: what I’ve learned so far.
So far, I have used the training and the online AI tools to create my own product about a grossly overlooked way to get more traffic: press releases. I am actually going to beta test my own product by using the techniques to promote MAP and Online Success Coaching.
As soon as I have created some tangible results, I will be able to use them as proof that the product works.
Then it will be time to launch my own product. When you work through Online Success Coaching, John Thornhill will promote the product you create to his list of over 100,000 people. He will also teach you how to find affiliates.
There is also a Facebook community within Online Success Coaching that is full of people who will promote each other’s products.
John also teaches a special twist that I am not going to divulge here that makes the products we create more valuable than every run of the mill product. This twist makes our products evergreen as opposed to being disposable products that people buy and just leave on their hard drive.
When I started making my product, I made the mistake of trying to do some of the work by memory instead of just following along with the videos. I ended up going down a path that turned into a wild goose chase and wasted about 3 weeks.
Finally though, I am back on track and have created the entire product. The testing and the marketing come next. There is a steep learning curve here, but it can be easily navigated. It just takes time.
Because of other things such as life and my current work as a massage therapist, it hasn’t gone as fast as I want it to. But I am still in there, doing the work and trying to get something done every day.
I enjoy being a massage therapist, but there is a finite amount of money that I can make doing it. That is why I want to have my own business as an affiliate marketer.
“But why are you building your own product instead of selling someone else’s?
I am still doing affiliate marketing for both of the John Thornhill products I am involved with. But
John wants us all to be successful and he says the most successful people all create their own products.
There is a really important reason for this. there are actually two. First of all, when you create your own products you can recruit affiliates to sell them for you. you collect the emails of everyone who buys your product. This gives you a list of buyers. a list of people who have bought your product and are interested in what you have to say.
This beats the crap out of buying solo ads and hoping to cobble together a decent mailing list. Solo ads are a great way to get started, but one of the biggest things I have learned is that it’s the people who create their own products who really make the money in this business.
There are certainly outliers. There are plenty of people who have made over a million dollars as affiliate marketers. But they have usually had money or other businesses to bankroll them while they are building their lists.
The biggest potential boost is having my product promoted to John’s 100,000 person email list. That’s one reason why I chose something in the Make Money Online niche for my first product: it will fit into his list.
However, I already have plans for my second product, which will be in the personal development niche. It’s going to be a fun journey.
